I do not love Yo La Tengo, but I love their song “Green Arrow” about as much as any music I’ve ever loved. Whispers peace and feel better. I guess it also kinda brings attention to things that are bothering you, or eating you alive even, but still with feel better. And without being a terrible song. A lot of songs try to draw attention to what’s wrong, but how it’s okay, such as “I’ll Be There for You” by the Rembrandtssss, but, you know, yuck. It’s rare, the song that can do that and not only not be terrible, but be truly lovely. I’ll listen to it at my funeral.
